The Certificate of Advanced Study in Bioprocessing is offered
by the Manufacturers Association of Central New York in cooperation with the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF). This Certificate Program was developed through a collaborative effort between business and academia to take advantage of this region’s unique expertise and resources. Graduates of the program will support the development and manufacture of products produced through a bioprocess in growing Central New York industries such as biofuels, winemaking, and pharmaceuticals.

The program consists of five graduate level courses offered over a one-year period. Participants earn graduate-level credit for each completed course. Courses are taught by subject matter experts representing both the academic and business communities. While successful completion of this program does not guarantee admission to a Master’s program, most courses will meet partial requirements for a Master’s track in SUNY-ESF’s master of Science in Environmental and Resources Engineering within the Paper Science and Engineering Option or SU’s Masters in Bioengineering or Chemical Engineering.

Classes meet on Thursday evenings from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. An occasional Saturday class may be required (times to be arranged).
Program Costs
The cost of the program is $4781.00. This includes program fees and related expenses.
The cost of books is not included.
Admission Requirements
Participants must hold a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Science from a recognized, accredited institution. A minimum of one semester of calculus is required.
Official transcripts of previous course work, a completed graduate application, a current resume, and 3 letters of recommendation are also required.
